Frequently asked questions
What can I wrap with it?
Half fruit and vegetables, cut onions, cheeses, bowls, loaves and sandwiches. It works for most fresh produce — just avoid raw meat and very hot food.
Can it be re-waxed?
Yes — when the wax thins, you can add a fresh coat of beeswax, which is the sustainable way to keep your wraps going for years.
How do I use it?
Press it over a bowl or around food with your hands; the warmth seals it. Rinse in cool water between uses and lay it flat to dry. Avoid heat and raw meat.
How long does one last?
With care — rinsing in cool water and keeping it away from heat — a wrap lasts for months of daily use, and can be refreshed with a new wax coat when it starts to dull.
Is it plastic-free?
Yes — it is cotton, beeswax and resin, with no plastic at all. When a wrap is finally worn out, it can go to the compost rather than the bin.
What is a beeswax food wrap?
A square of cotton coated in a blend of beeswax, tree resin and a little oil. The warmth of your hands softens the wax so it moulds around food or a bowl, then sets as it cools.
